Trauma-Informed Children's Ministry

Kids who we serve in our ministries are struggling on a daily basis. Research shows us that about half of the children in our ministries have experienced a traumatic event, and more and more research shows us that children are experiencing mental health concerns at a higher rate than ever before. Anxiety, depression, abuse, suicidality, trauma - there's no way to avoid all of the children in your ministry from experiencing these things. However, Scriptural-based wisdom and evidence-based practices give us guides to understand how to best serve children who have experienced hard and difficult things so that they can learn about Jesus in the best setting for them. This training will help guide you in how to: - realize the impact of trauma on the children in your ministry - recognize behaviors and indicators that children in your ministry are going through trauma - respond to the needs of the children you serve who might need accommodations and create a compassionate environment for all children and volunteers of all backgrounds.
